Comfort One Another
“Your rod and your staff they comfort me.” Psalm 23: 4
In this time of isolation, it becomes increasingly important that we reach out to loved ones and friends who are either nearby or far away to help assure ourselves that we are a part of a much wider circle of love. We naturally stay in touch with our immediate family and our closest friends, but there are others who could use additional words of comfort: grandparents, brothers and sisters, uncles and aunts, cousins, old friends with whom we haven’t visited in a while. A simple email, call, or text could make the difference in that person’s day. Never underestimate the power of simple communication and caring, especially in this age of separation. As the Lord comforted David in Psalm 23, so can we send a message of comfort to those we know.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, may we make that special effort in reaching out to others with a message of love and caring. Through Christ our Lord we pray. Amen.
