Holiday Mission Opportunities

With the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays approaching, there are several opportunities to join in giving with the Mission Committee.

The Operation Christmas Child program is wrapping up! Please bring your shoeboxes, filled with gifts, fee, and wrapped to the church this Sunday, November 18. A few shoeboxes are still available at the church if you need one to fill. Contact Carol Rohrer or the church office for more information.

The Council of Churches is sponsoring the annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner on November 22. This year’s meal will be served at First Baptist Church, 1911 Grandview. FPC’s congregation is providing 20 pies for the dinner. If you would like to donate a pie, contact the church office or Dora Morris.

FPC’s congregation is “adopting” a family in December with the local Christmas Bureau. The Mission Committee will contact the family and also shop for specific gifts and supplies that are needed. They are asking for financial donations to support this project. If you would like to contribute, please write” Christmas Bureau” on the memo line of your check, or place cash in an envelope and clearly mark “Christmas Bureau” on the outside. Contributions are accepted now through December 16. Contact the church office or Kay Russell for more information.
