Nowhere to Go but Up
“Who knows that the breath of man ascends upward…” Ecclesiastes 3: 21
When you think about 4-5 weeks ago there was nowhere to go but up. New York City hospitals were beginning to see an overwhelming number of patients afflicted with the corona virus. Ventilators were at a premium as the rest of the States braced for the virus to cross its borders. The sounds of alarm rang throughout the land.
But now we see a calmer landscape, certainly not out of the woods, but at least on the edge of seeing real progress in overcoming an enemy that has successfully brought the world to its knees in sickness, death, and unemployment. But we seem to be on the right trajectory with great progress made in treating the virus, in addition to the prospect of a vaccine ahead of schedule.
Often when you have nowhere to go but up that is when you see the strength of the Lord at its best. Blessings on those who have carried out the will of the Lord though hard work, love, sacrifice, ingenuity, and compassion.
Prayer: Let us be grateful for the incredible efforts made on behalf of humanity. When all seems lost, the hope of Your salvation comes through your hard working, dedicatedservants who love and serve You in ways which glorify Your creation. In Your name we pray. Amen.
