Persistence in the Faith

Persistence in the Faith

“Proclaim the message; be persistent whether the time is favorable or unfavorable.” II Timothy 4: 2

We admire persistent people, those who stay on task and never give up. The Apostle Paul was a textbook example of this virtue. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith...” were words that revealed the character of Paul.

There is no particular challenge in keeping the faith and a good attitude when times are favorable, but when times are unfavorable, as the ones we are experiencing now, persistence and consistency in our faith are key to encouraging and helping others when the chips are down. “Proclaim the message,” Paul urged his good friend Timothy.

Let us be persistent in proclaiming the message of Christ’s love. It will refresh ours and others’ souls during this difficult time.

Prayer: God our Father, may we maintain persistence in sharing hope with our family and friends, serving as beacons of hope to them. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
