The Wamego Presbyterian Women held their annual Christmas Party in Fellowship Hall on Sunday afternoon, December 2. Twenty-three ladies attended the gathering. Everyone was asked to bring a snack to share and a wrapped present for the gift exchange.
The ladies sampled a variety of goodies and hot cider, while President Carolyn Daniels conducted a short business meeting. Financial information was reviewed, officers were elected, and committee sign-up sheets were distributed.
After the business was completed, it was time for entertainment. The ladies enjoyed two lively interpretations of “The Night Before Christmas”, read by Brenda Patterson. She read the traditional version first, followed by a very spirited “Cajun” adaptation!
Pam Delay continued the entertainment by leading the gift exchange. She read a special version of the Christmas story that involved passing the gifts to the left, to the right, and to the left again and so on, as she read the story. By the end of the narrative, everyone had a gift in front of them that they could open and keep. There was no “trading gifts” this year – even though some ladies did try to negotiate!
The gathering concluded with more time for fellowship and treats. A big “Thank You” goes out to the WPW committee members that organized the event!
