WPW Salad Supper

The Wamego Presbyterian Women hosted a salad supper on Sunday evening, Sept. 7 in Fellowship Hall. Twenty-eight women attended, including 8 mother-daughter pairs. The ladies enjoyed many potluck salads, including several varieties of pasta salad, fruit salad, and hot bread.

Shirley Carnahan, WPW Co-President opened the meeting with a prayer and shared memories of women of the church. Following the meal and fellowship time, Sue Potter, Co-President introduced the guest speaker, Jan Vanderbilt. Jan gave a presentation on the issue of human trafficking and its prevalence in Kansas. She shared information about the Homestead Ministry, located in Manhattan, and facilitated by Westview Community Church. This ministry provides services for victims of human trafficking by offering a temporary safe place living place, clothing, counseling, and job training. The next scheduled WPW event will be Holly Fest on Saturday, November 1.
