Wamego Presbyterian Women held their annual Salad Supper in Fellowship Hall on Sunday night, August 26. Each lady was asked to bring “an apron that their mother had worn “ (or an apron with special meaning or sentimental value) and a salad “that their mother might have made”.
Twenty-one ladies and girls attended. After a short WPW business meeting, everyone shared stories about the aprons they were wearing. Many were handmade, worn only for “best” or held special memories. A wonderful variety of salads were offered along with two choices of hot bread. Colorful frozen popsicle fruit bars were served for dessert. Tables were adorned with snowman decorations to give the guests a cool feeling after suffering thru all the hot temps this summer.
Mark your calendars for the next WPW Events: HollyFest on November 3 and the Christmas Party on December 2. A sign-up sheet for the Christmas committee was distributed during the meeting. The HollyFest committee will begin meetings in September. For more information about WPW events, or to sign up for these committees, contact the Church Office.
